Assistant Controller

Duties

Serves as support to the day-to-day responsibilities of the Controller

Meet financial accounting objectives

Analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports as needed

Provides analysis of all general ledger accounts

Reviews bank statements and daily composites

Ensures month end closing journal entry postings are completed

Prepares all month end reporting

Analyzes AR/AP on a weekly basis

Completes and provides customer cost analysis

Reporting of sales analysis

Participates and supports audits

Supports all aspects of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables functions

Works with sales and operations on all Ad Hoc Requests

All other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

    Advanced in Microsoft Excel

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Excellent computer skills including accounting systems or ERP software

    Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work

    Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects demanding high attention to detail

    Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills

    Must read and write English

    Travel requirement if needed out-of-state

    Ability to work in a highly confidential environment

    Knowledge of best practices and how position integrates with others internally and externally

Education / Training

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

4-5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting or equivalent

Related Experience/Requirements

Experience in Manufacturing preferred

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Meat/Food Industry preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: step, climb, sit for long periods of time, type and lift as needed.

Plant is a cold refrigerated environment
